Kids Curing Cancer with Style
In 2005, at the age of 7, Greer Gates started making and selling bracelets to help raise money to cure cancer to support a close family friend named Nancy. With the help of her family and friends, her project has grown and is now a registered charity, with the proceeds going to fund cancer research at the University of Washington Medical Center. Since the begining of Jewels of Hope, Greer has sold more than $78,000.00 of her creations. As of 12/31/13
Volunteers make jewelry that is fun and festive and vintage button necklaces too. As Jewels of Hope grows, new items are added like the Button Christmas Tree ornament, Snowmen ornaments, and Bottle cap ornaments. Please visit our products page for more information about our products and how to order them.
Greer's original bracelet line has evolved into a full line of Jewely, keychains, retractible badge holders, and christmas ornaments, and each has her signature Sea Turtle charm or stamp. Nancy's Relay for Life team was the "Turtle Herd". An avid scuba diver and water lover, Nancy admired the many changes and adaptions that Sea Turtles have had to overcome to survive. The average Sea Turtle lives a very long life, and is seen as good luck in many cultures.
